Catch-22

This was probably the best book I read all summer and one of my favoite. It is about a small base on the island of Pianosa during WWII. The base is home to many American bombers and no shortage of interesting characters. The main character is Yossarian who is completely against flying [bombing] missions and trys anything to get out of them. Unfortunatly for him though, there is always one problem standing in his way, Catch-22.

The Tao of Pooh

This is a book that I just happened to pick up and start reading. It's about the Chinese principal of Taoism and how it relates to the stories and characters of Winnie the Pooh. It was entertaining though, because the whole book is essentially a conversation between the writer and Pooh with mild interference from other characters such as Piglet, Owl, Rabbit, Eore, etc. In the end, i thought the book was writen well and it made sense to me how each character was related to a principal of Taoism. 

The Dragon Heir

This is the third book in the "Heir Trilogy" by Cinda Williams Chima (after The Wizard Heir). It is about the final stand of the Wizards in Trinity during the war to reestablish the old covenant. This book probably won't make much sense if read alone, so i would suggest reading the previous two before reading this one.

The Warrior Heir

This is the first book in the "Heir Trilogy" by Cinda Williams Chima. It is about a boy from Trinity Ohio who has his future cut out for him pretty much when he is born. As he grows up he learns that he is a warrior and meant to be played in a wizard tournament. The wizard tournaments are ways to settle fueds between the wizard houses. Each house (team) gets a warrior and make them fight to the death. The warrior who survives won for the wizards who essenttialy own him/her.

The Warlock

The second book I read this summer was called The Warlock. This is the fifth book in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicolas Flammel series. the series is about two twins who get mixed up in an age old battle involving Elders and Dark Elders (good and bad gods). A prophecy was written long ago that stated that there shall be two twins, one to save the world, and one to destroy. the series is about the adventures of those twins.

Summer Reading

The first book I read this summer was Scorpia Rising. This is the 9th and final book in the Alex Rider series. The book is about Alex's old enemy the crime organization Scorpia regaining their footing from the last two defeats involving Alex. They are hired by a very rich man and their plan involves having one last go at Alex.

Hi People

Hi all, sorry that I haven' been posting I got kind of absorbed in a mixture of camp, a few good, books, wifiless vacation, and a lot of procrastination. Right now I am in the middle of a book called The Wizard Heir. This book is a sister book to The Warrior Heir. The book is about a young wizard who has a very powerful but high priority father. Seph, the wizard is not aloud to know or come into contact with his father because a child would pose a vulnerability in dragging him out of hiding. I am currently towards the middle of the book when Seph is discovered to be the son of "The Dragon" who is the target.
